Beth and Tessa MacGraw launched their eponymous label in 2012. The sister duo has since carved their place in the Australian designer landscape with a keen eye for beautiful fabrications in wearable silhouettes.
Their fresh take on femininity and free-spirited opulence has fast become a signature. Unique fabrications are important to their design process with the majority of fabrics developed in-house. The designers create all their unique prints from sketch with all original artwork hand drawn in studio by Tessa.
macgraw has attracted a strong customer base of luxury dressers who appreciate unique, detail oriented design made with love. Their colourful personality has also garnered the attention of key media and celebrity. A regular inclusion on the pages of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar the brand has dressed Lorde, Kendall Jenner, Julianne Moore, Banks, Coco Rocha and Karlie Kloss.
macgraw debuted at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (mbfwa) in April 2014 to critical acclaim and has since become an annual show highlight on the schedule, supported by seasonal showrooms in Paris.
On their emerging path, macgraw has taken out Australia's top fashion awards....The Tiffany & Co. National Designer Award, The BT Award, The Regional International Woolmark Prize (IWP) and The Australian Fashion Laureate for Best Emerging Designer.
In early 2017, the designers presented a capsule Woolmark collection to an esteemed industry panel in Paris (Dame Natalie Massenet, Bouchra Jarrarr of Lanvin and Victoria Beckham). The designers innovated a new technique with merino wool, a superfine 100% merino lace that doesn't crease. An innovation now being offered to luxury design houses worldwide. "They developed an entirely new way of producing wool" said IWP judge and netaporter founder Natalie Massenet. "We'll be able to wear lace in winter and still be warm. To a girl that's a dream come true"
